DRIVE NORTH ON PACIFIC HIGHWAY:
to Wahroonga until you come to the Freeway turnoff north. Coming
from the CBD
it will take approx. 40 minutes to reach the Freeway entry.
AFTER ENTERING FREEWAY AT WAHROONGA:
Proceed via the Hawkesbury Bridge until you see the sign: Gosford/Woy
Woy.
(about half an hour depending on the traffic) Take this turnoff
to the left; then
approx. 1 kilometre further along turn right (signposted to Woy Woy)
after
the big Shell Service Station on your right
at Kariong. Take care to keep to
60 km/hr here since there are often police checks on the side of
the road.
FOLLOW THE WOY WOY ROAD: for approx 10-15 minutes until you
come to a level crossing at the approaches to Woy Woy. 300m further
along
turn right at the roundabout (BP/Shell Service stations on each corner)
Follow the main road for approx. 2 km to the next roundabout at Umina
(Shell Service Station on your right) and turn right.
FOLLOW THIS ROAD: (signposted to Patonga) until it climbs the
hill with Ocean Beach below you on the left hand side. Half way up
the hill
after a sharp bend in the road is a fork in the road with a sign
to the left to
Pearl Beach.
Take this road which winds down into the village. When you get to
the bottom
turn right at the first intersection.
THIS IS DIAMOND ROAD: Drive along for about 500 metres across 3
inter-
secting roads. You will be met by members of the local bushfire brigade
who
direct the traffic and who will tell you that the road ahead is closed
and that
the parking area is to the right.
The rest of the directions were for performers
only - but by now you should be able to find your way.... Matt
